Film Review: Gang of Mothers Returns in A Bad Moms Christmas

Bad Moms Christmas Review. Ho-ho-holiday is coming! Witty moms are back at the end of 2017. Huayi Brothers Pictures released a sequel to Bad Moms (2016), entitled A Bad Moms Christmas. Scott Moore and Jon Lucas are still writing the script and working on this film. Not to forget that Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn are still acting as bad moms.

The holiday season is coming, and Amy (Mila Kunis) is just like any other mother who is stressed about planning a special vacation for her family, especially for her two children post-divorce. The stress she experiences is exacerbated when her mother, Ruth (Christine Baranski), arrives, who is super critical of her life.

Kiki is busy taking care of 4 children

Meanwhile, Kiki (Kristen Bell) is still busy taking care of her four children, but this time her husband helps out. Kiki is surprised when her mother, Sandy (Cheryl Hines), arrives early for the holidays. Sandy really wanted to spend time with Kiki because he was the only child, but unfortunately, Kiki felt disturbed. Not to be outdone, Isis (Susan Sarandon) comes to visit Carla (Kathryn Hahn), the complete opposite of Amy and Kiki. Carla is actually happy that her mother is coming because she hasn’t seen her for a long time.

Problems came when Amy and her mother had different visions of how to celebrate the holidays. Amy wanted a holiday that was simple but relaxed, while Ruth wanted everything structured, from a big Christmas tree to festive garden decorations to a big party on Christmas Eve. Kiki also feels disturbed because her mother is increasingly obsessed with her, starting from monitoring Kiki and Kent, who are making love to cutting hair similar to hers. Meanwhile, Carla is disappointed and realizes that her mother only came because she needed money after losing at gambling.

Will they be able to celebrate the holiday peacefully? Will their relationships with their respective mothers get along?

Bad Moms Christmas Review: Lots of jokes

Scott Moore and Jon Lucas are still loyal to the formula of the first film, showing the boredom of mothers preparing for their holidays and their craziness. If in the first film they messed up the supermarket, here they are sick of seeing the hustle and bustle of pre-Christmas shopping at the mall. Amy, Kiki, and Carla try to bring back the holiday fun by drinking and stealing the Christmas tree. Don’t worry if you haven’t watched the first film, because the story presented is quite light and full of fresh jokes that complement the conflict between children and mothers.

Christine Baranski, who plays Ruth, steals attention with her annoying attitude. Christine’s various exciting fights with Mila Kunis successfully invite laughter. Apart from that, Kathryn Hahn is still the most broken mother, aka crazy. Here she is acting together with Justin Hartley, a striptease dancer who made Carla fall in love. Even though the portion is not so large, their dialogue is able to make us laugh out loud.

Bad Moms Christmas Review: Has various conflicts

Not only haha hihi, but emotional moments are also presented in this 104-minute comedy film. These various conflicts will create a family warmth that has not existed for a long time.

Even though it is in the family film category, this film has a rating of 21 and over because it contains a lot of adult content. You must watch A Bad Mom’s Christmas for the Christmas holidays and the end of the year, with a variety of witty jokes from mothers and family warmth. Starting in theaters on December 6, 2017, you can buy tickets to watch online at BookMyShow.
