This film, based on the novel I Am Legend by Richard Matheson, tells the story of Robert Neville (Will Smith), a virologist for the American army. In 2009, a study of a virus intended to treat cancer ended tragically. The virus mutates, infects humans, and turns them into Darkseekers, vicious creatures who really like darkness. Three years later, Robert Neville, who was immune to the virus, had to live in isolation.

During the day, Robert, accompanied by his dog named Sam, survives by hunting for food and looking for other survivors. Meanwhile, at night, he returned to his house which was built like a fortress for shelter.

This film, directed by Francis Lawrence, was a box office success and earned $585 million from its broadcast in 2007. This film presents CGI which was quite sophisticated for its time. Exciting scenes with a solid story plot make it difficult for you to sit still while watching.

2. Oblivion

Oblivion is set on Earth in 2077. Tom Cruise plays Jack Harper, a technician who lives on Earth after it was damaged by a war with aliens. He must complete a mission in order to join the Earth humans who live on Titan, the moon of the planet Saturn. In the middle of his mission he meets a beautiful woman sleeping in a spacecraft (played by Olga Kurylenko).

The woman named Julia turned out to be his wife in the past. Jack also investigates the truth behind his mission and must be involved in a fight that risks the lives of himself, Julia, and the other humans remaining on earth. Although the plot received mixed reviews, the visual effects and Tom Cruise’s actions in this film received a lot of praise. This film presents a plot that is difficult to predict, and the twist at the end of the film is complicated. Fans of post-apocalyptic films and Tom Cruise certainly shouldn’t miss this film.

3. Mad Max: Fury Road

Mad Max: Fury Road continues the success of the previous Mad Max film. In the future, the earth will become barren because it is difficult to get fuel and water. Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy) teams up with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) to escape Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), a cruel leader who rules the Wasteland.

This film tells the story of a virus attack that can turn humans into zombies within 48 hours. One family (Andy, Kay and Rosie) managed to survive and live on a houseboat on the outskirts of town. They have to find food and survive zombie attacks. Unlike most zombie films in the horror genre, Cargo displays a meaningful human and familial side. Martin Freeman’s acting, in particular, received praise from critics because his performance successfully stirred the audience’s emotions.
