Realistic Bruce Wayne and Batman characters
Batman Begins is the opening of the Batman film directed by Christopher Nolan. Therefore, this film tells how Bruce Wayne originally became a superhero named Batman. Then what part of him moved him to become a hero revealed in great detail and made sense.
Unlike most Batman films, in Batman Begins it told how Bruce learns self-defense and where the sophisticated tools he uses come from.
Even Batman, who is a superhero, shown to have various weaknesses, including when he hallucinates due to the Scarecrow’s liquid spray. Not to mention he needed Rachel and Gordon as law enforcement.
Nolan seems to want to restore Batman’s character as an ordinary person, namely a person who moved to defend crime because of his bitter past. Not to missed, this film also displays Batman’s typical conflict, namely a different way of upholding justice.
As an introduction to Batman, the villain shown, namely Ra’s Al Ghul, feels right as he trains Bruce. Batman Begins presents a solid story with neatly arranged surprises and suspense.
The deepening of the characters of the players well packaged. Each character has strong motives. What moves them to take action embedded in every important character, from Rachel, Lucius, and Crane to Ra’s Al Ghul.
Minimal Action
A superhero film will not be complete if it does not present exciting action scenes. Batman Begins did the same thing. It’s just that the levels are much different compared to other superhero films that spread the use of effects throughout the film.
You could even say that for a film that uses a superhero as the main character, this film is fairly minimal in action. The tempo in this film is relatively slow; even Batman, who wearing his new costume, can seen almost in the middle of the film.
Nolan seems to really want to project Batman Begins as an introduction to the strong character of Batman. He makes Batman Begins full of drama but doesn’t eliminate the intensity of the tension at all.
