Synopsis Angels the Demons

The film begins with a sad news story from the Vatican stating that their leader, Pope Pius XVI, died suddenly due to a long illness. All Catholic followers mourn. They then gathered at the Vatican to mourn and offer prayers to their leader.

The election of the next Pope will also be held soon. To fill the power vacuum, the Camerlegno, Patrick McKenna (Ewan McGregor), holds temporary Vatican authority before a new Pope is elected who will lead the next Vatican.

At the CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) Laboratory, Dr. Vittoria Vetra (Ayelet Zurer) has created three canisters of antimatter. Antimatter is intended to help human life in the energy field. Its explosive power can be as powerful as an atomic bomb. The research was carried out under the supervision of a priest named Silvano Bentivoglio (Carmen Argenziano).

Missing Antimatter Particle Tube

However, along with the death of Pope Pius XVI, the antimatter particle tube was stolen by a mysterious person. Even the thief killed Pastor Silvano by removing his eye. After that, a video emerged stating that the perpetrators were the Illuminati and that they had kidnapped four preferiti (cardinal candidates who would be elected to be the next Pope).

They will kill the preferred ones one by one every hour starting at 8 p.m. After killing the preferiti, at midnight, the Illuminati will detonate the antimatter tube, whose explosive power can destroy the entire Vatican.

The Vatican was panic-stricken until they approached a professor named Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks). He is a symbol expert from Harvard University. Then, they also called Dr. Vittoria Vetra from CERN to help solve the case that happened in the Vatican and save the four preferiti.

Patrick McKenna Shows A Video

Robert Langdon watched a video shown by Patrick McKenna. He then proceeded to deduce that the four preferiti would be killed at four different altar locations.

The location is marked by statues of angels with classical elements of the Vatican church. Robert Langdon also asked permission to enter the secret Vatican archives to identify these places.

Initially, commander Maximilian Richter (Stellan Skarsgard), who is the head of the frontline police to protect the Vatican, does not allow Robert Langdon to enter the secret archives.

That’s because the archive is very secret and is a valuable treasure of the Vatican that cannot be accessed by ordinary people.

Patrick Mckenna holds ultimate authority.

However, Patrick McKenna, who at that time held the main authority of the Vatican for a while, had no other choice. He also allowed Robert Langdon to enter the secret Vatican Archives. The reason, of course, was to immediately save the Vatican and the four preferiti, who were kidnapped by the Illuminati.

From there, they began to search for the preferiti and the antimatter canister that could destroy the entire Vatican.

Accompanied by Dr. Vittoria Vetra, Robert Langdon matched symbols with clues he had found in videos sent by the Illuminati. Then will they be able to find the four preferences safely?
