1. The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
This very touching romantic film stars Shailene Woodley as Hazel Grace Lancaster and Ansel Elgort as Augustus Waters. This film, which is based on the novel with the same title, tells the story of Hazel, a stage 4 thyroid cancer sufferer who meets Augustus, a sufferer of osteosarcoma which causes him to have one of his legs amputated.
The closeness between the two of them was so close that they both formalized their relationship when they were in Amsterdam even though they were in bad conditions. However, the happiness of their love story had to end bitterly because Augustus had to first leave Hazel forever.
2. Now is Good (2012)
This drama-romance genre film, which received a rating of 7.2 from Imbd, tells the story of Tessa, played by Dakota Fanning, who suffers from leukemia and meets Adam, played by Jeremy Irvine, who is her new neighbor. Tessa also has a close friend, Zoey, who always shares laughter with each other.
The film, which is based on the novel entitled ‘Before I Die’, will present the story of Tessa and Adam’s close relationship with each other amidst Tessa’s increasingly deteriorating condition. 3. Irreplaceable You (2018)
Irreplaceable You is a film with a romantic comedy drama genre that tells the story of Abbie, played by Gugu Mbhata-Raw, and Sam, played by Michiel Huisman, who were friends since childhood until they got engaged. In the midst of their happiness, it turned out that Abbie was not pregnant but had a cancerous tumor in her stomach.
In contrast to other cancer sufferers that Abbie met, Abbie did not try to enjoy the rest of her life well but instead tried to prepare happiness for Sam by finding a partner for Sam through an online dating site before he died.
4. A Walk to Remember (2002)
This romantic drama genre film tells the story of Landon Carter (Shane West), who is a naughty student which results in him having to undergo punishment in the form of various after-school activities. Here Landon meets a religious bookworm named Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore).
Landon fell in love with Jamie and in the end the two of them had a serious relationship. However, Jamie has a secret that Landon doesn’t know, namely that Jamie is a leukemia sufferer and has stopped treatment. Landon continued to fulfill Jamie’s last wish but in the end Jamie had to meet his death.
5. Movies About Leukimia: More Than Blue (2009)
More than Blue is a romantic drama film from Korea, starring Lee Bo-Young who plays Cream and Kwon Sang-Woo who plays Kay, telling the story of the two of them meeting and Kay falling in love with Cream at first sight but never expressing it. However, their closeness only lasted for a very short time because Kay apparently suffered from cancer.
Even though he was in the “friendzone” position, Kay, who was aware of his short time and the great love he had for Cream, took the initiative to find a replacement for Cream. Kay also finds a suitable replacement for Cream, a dentist who already has a fiancé. In various ways, Kay tries to find a way for the dentist to marry Cream.
